During his tenure at Levi's, he relocated often, living in Oklahoma City, New Orleans, Dallas, Los Angeles, Teaneck and San Francisco. His passion as a champion of youth is well known in the communities in which he lived.

Over the years, Jerry has been on the boards of a variety of synagogues, Federations, and Jewish organizations. In 1994 he and his family moved to the Boston area.
