FJC :: Campership Incentive Program

By offering financial incentives to campers' families, FJC drives higher enrollment in Jewish camps across North America.

FJC received a $15 million gift-the largest ever in the field of Jewish camping-for the purpose of creating incentive programs across North America to encourage parents to send their children to Jewish nonprofit camps.

With the support of this gift, FJC is working with local Jewish federations, synagogue movements, professionals, funders and camping leaders to create new programs in local communities. The Campership Incentive Program will provide matching grants, one-to-one in the first year and receding thereafter, aimed at launching incentive programs that will then be supported by the community long-term. FJC will work closely with participating communities, sharing best practices and discussing methodology to maximize the reach and breadth of the program. Communities with tuition inducements show increased enrollment at Jewish overnight camps and children receiving camper incentives will return to camp long after the incentive grant has concluded.

This program has some very specific goals and parameters.

Only first time campers are eligible. (Some communities may also opt for a returning campers program.)
Minimum camp length of stay is three weeks.
Incentive grants can only be used for the nonprofit overnight Jewish summer camps affiliated with the Foundation for Jewish Camp. For a full listing of these camps, please visit the Find a Camp directory.
This program is meant as an outreach program for children who do not receive an intensive Jewish experience during the year.

Campers who have been accepted to the JWest Campership Program are NOT eligible for the Campership Incentive Program and vice versa.
