Noar L'Noar

In 2002, the Foundation for Jewish Camp launched Project Noar L'Noar - a landmark initiative designed to address the fall-off of teens traveling to Israel on peer educational programs. Through generous funding from the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Fund, the FJC retained Rachel Sachs to create and launch a targeted program designed to maintain and enhance connections between Jewish teens across North America and Israel. Rachel, a native of Israel with extensive knowledge and experience in Israel and Jewish education, Israel programs and North American Jewish youth, designed Project Noar L'Noar - a program to bring Israeli teens to Jewish camps across North America in order to share a summer experience with their American peers.

With the rise in numbers of North American teens traveling back to Israel, Project Noar L'Noar reached its successful and natural conclusion. Project Noar L'Noar played a significant role in Israel education, bringing over 450 Israeli campers from all regions in Israel to over 23 camps across North America, spanning both geographical and denominational divides. The Israeli campers shared Jewish camp summer experiences with thousands of American and Canadian campers, learning about their peers' lives and building friendships that will strengthen ties with the Jewish state.
